Die vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit dem ökologischen Paradigma als ein Begründungszusammenhang für Integration.
Urie Bronfenbrenner (1917-2005) gilt als der Hauptvertreter diese Paradigmas. Die nähere Betrachtung anderer Vertreter wie Kurt Lewin (1890- 1947), August Rüggeberg oder Alfred Sander würde den Rahmen dieser Arbeit sprengen. Es ist Bronfenbrenners Überzeugung, dass nicht nur die Praxis der Wissenschaft bedürfe, sondern umgekehrt auch die Wissenschaft der Praxis. Mit dem ökosystemischen Ansatz erstellt er eine Systematik der Einflussfaktoren der menschlichen Entwicklung.
Im Folgenden werden zunächst einige begriffliche Klärungen (2) vorgenommen. Im Hauptteil wird zunächst die ökologische Entwicklungstheorie Bronfenbrenners (3) dargestellt um dann die Relevanz für die Lernbehindertenpädagogik zu klären (4).
