Who We Are
Haiti Rebuild, Inc. (HRI) is a Tucson-based nonprofit organization, incorporated in Arizona in 2010. Our mission is to provide much-needed human and material resources to improve the quality of life for our Haitian brothers and sisters.
Our Motto: Success Through Partnership
Haiti Rebuild’s operational framework is based on the formation of partnerships with other organizations, groups, and individual volunteers. In a spirit of collaboration, many of Haiti’s challenges can be successfully addressed. Haiti Rebuild has specifically targeted the following three areas.
Education for the 21st Century
HRI believes that education is the most important commodity that will increase Haiti’s chances of improving the quality of life for all Haitians. Our goal is to provide a new instructional framework with strategies that teachers can use to prepare their students with 21st century skills necessary for participation in a global economy. Another goal of HRI is to demonstrate that education can have an immediate impact on economic development and community building through project-based learning.
Economic Development
HRI is prepared to bring delegations to Haiti who provide training and initial support for small business ventures. Applications for well-conceived, sustainable projects are reviewed and awarded a start-up loan with 1% interest. A sustainable business is one that has the capacity to expand the local economy. For example, a business venture that supports green technologies could provide a new service or product that is affordable and environmentally friendly.
Community Building
HRI will provide mini-grants for projects that originate from a unit of study where students enrolled in school research and implement a plan that addresses a community need or cultural interest. Such projects emphasize learning and giving back to the community. They do not include “for profit” ventures. An example of such a project is the development and oversight of a tree-planting or oral history project.
Scholarships
My Love (a 5-year-old Haitian girl) is Haiti’s future and greatest resource. She just completed her first year of school; however, she needs your help to continue. You may make a general contribution to our scholarship fund or assist a specific child like My Love. In return, we will send you a profile of the child you are sponsoring and a progress report of his or her schooling.

Making Donations
Your donation will help us develop programs for schools and youth, provide scholarships for children to attend school, coordinate and assist with job creation and training, and support community development activities. In addition, your support will help us provide professional development for Haitian teachers so that they are better equipped to provide their students with the 21st century skills they will need.
